Last year I had an urge to make something other than the sheerkhurma and while looking into some recipes i came across this one. Its a big time hit. Tastes amazing!!!
This recipe yields around 20 to 24 depending upon the size you make.
Ingredients:
Milk 1 1/2 ltr
Sugar 13 to 15 tbsp
Cardamom 2-3 slightly crushed
Nido milk powder 1 cup
Baking powder 1tsp
Oil 2tsp
Maida 1tbsp leveled
Egg 1
Method:
Mix in the milk, sugar and cardamom in a sauce pan and bring to a boil on low flame. Let it simmer for around 20 minutes to thicken.
Meanwhile mix together milk powder, egg, baking powder, oil and maida and make a medium soft dough. Now you have to be a bit quick and make small balls otherwise it'd be diffcult as the dough might get dry and start to crumble,(make sure you make the balls really small as the rise 3 times of their size).
Carefully drop the balls in the simmering milk, half cover the pot and leave for around 15 mins on low flame. They'll rise and come up to the surface. Take it off the flame. Garnish with pistachio and serve chill.
Happy cooking!!! =)
